Published purpose

This project aims to ensure that feminist voices contribute to the discussions and outcomes of the 2018 G7. This project supports the Women 7 (W7) initiative to create a forum whereby feminist leaders from Canada and around the world come together to strategize, identify common priorities, access and influence decision-making spaces, and share their visions for a more feminist G7. The W7 is meeting alongside the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council to ensure interaction with the council and key decision-makers. The W7 aims to bring together approximately 50 feminist leaders from Canada, the G7 countries, and the Global South, in Ottawa. The W7 initiative is two full days of meetings, including an evening reception with policymakers on April 25, 2018, and a public event on April 26, 2018.
