Published purpose

Component II of the Community-Driven Initiatives for Food Security (CIFS) project is a fund forwarded to districts in Northern Ghana to support the implementation of food security initiatives. These initiatives are managed and administered using existing local government planning processes and mandates. Component II is implemented directly by national and local Government of Ghana authorities. This is one of two components of CIFS. The total value of the two components is $12 million. The project one-year extension currently underway provides logistical support, training and technical assistance at the regional level. The extension increases the capacity to plan and integrate initiatives, and to coordinate the work of line agencies to reduce food insecurity throughout the Region.
