Published purpose

The project goal is to contribute to sustainable management of forest and wildlife resources in Cameroon, in order to enable this vitally important economic sector to generate long-term revenue to benefit all of the country. The project provides a financial contribution to a basket fund in order to enable the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife to effectively fulfil its public service missions. The basket fund finances the technical assistance and training required to implement FESP's five components: (i) environmental management of forestry activities, (ii) management of production forests and adding value to forest products, (iii) conservation of biodiversity and adding value to wildlife resources, (iv) community-based management of forest and wildlife resources, and (v) institution building, training and research.
