Published purpose

This project supports the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)'s land administration reform process through a World Bank-managed initiative. The funds provided by CIDA target strategic elements of Cambodia's Land Administration, Management and Distribution Program (LAMDP). The goal of the LAMDP is to contribute to a more productive allocation and use of land resources in Cambodia by improving security of tenure and land utilization through a fair and efficient land administration system. Activities include the organization of workshops and studies addressing regional land issues, the development and implementation of land use policies and guidelines, the provision of technical assistance to land-governing bodies, and land valuation, supervision, monitoring and review. The goal of this project is also to contribute to the development of a land valuation system and helps improve the framework for addressing state land identification and mapping concerns through a better understanding of key issues. It aims to optimize donor inputs and resources to the land sector through effective coordination mechanisms, improves land management by increasing knowledge dissemination and increases supervision, monitoring and evaluation to reduce inefficiencies of current land governance systems. Activities in this project are finished.
