Published purpose

In support of Mali's second Ten-Year Health and Social Development Plan, which covers the period from 2007 to 2016 (inclusive), this project provides direct support to its five-year operational program, the Health and Social Development Program (PRODESS) in Mali’s Northern regions: Timbuktu, Gao, and Kidal. Canadian support targets community health centres relating to the provision of reproductive health services and community health associations in terms of their capacity to mobilize the community and to manage the community health centres. The project strengthens the capacities of decentralized health facilities in the regions of northern Mali. Unlike a similar project in the Kayes region which provides Canadian technical assistance, this project calls on local Malians to provide the necessary technical support.
