Published purpose

The Strengthening Civil Society in the Horn of Africa project strengthens grass-roots civil society organizations by providing training on organizational development, financial management, and gender equality. It aims to increase the capacities of civil society and the private sector in the Horn of Africa to work with and engage government on issues related to community development. This project takes place within the context of democratic changes in the supported countries that are creating opportunities for local stakeholders to work together to address a range of common issues affecting their development. The project enhances the ability of community organizations to form strategic partnerships in order to mutually support the development of their communities and sharpen their effectiveness in dealing with crisis and change.
