Published purpose
The project focusses on raising awareness through multimedia campaigns, formal education, and informal education. It aims to improve environmental management and environmental governance on the island of Sulawesi. The goal is to assist Indonesia in the protection and creation of sustainable livelihoods through equitable access to, and sustainable management of, natural resources. The project purpose is to create the necessary conditions that enable stakeholders (regional government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community, journalists, and the private sector) to develop open dialogue and democratic processes toward sustainable natural resource management policies and practices in Sulawesi. The project is led by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Indonesia, based in Jakarta, in partnership with a local NGO, Yayasan Lestari, based in Manado, North Sulawesi.
