Published purpose
This project aims to improve the quality of life and the functional capacity of surviving landmine victims in the Middle East. In collaboration with partners in Jordan, Lebanon, and the West Bank and Gaza, College Montmorency is helping transfer knowledge of orthopaedic and prosthesis care to local technicians and clinicians. The project’s ultimate goal is to improve amputees’ rehabilitation process and support them in their eventual efforts to secure their basic human needs. Assistance to the victims includes emergency medical attention, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, the provision of prostheses and psychological support, as well as support for their reintegration into society.
