Published purpose

The project aims to develop the knowledge and capacities of the members of the Armed Forces and the National Police, to enable them to perform their functions in compliance with international humanitarian law (IHL) and child rights standards and legislation. The project contributes to training 17,200 members of the Armed Forces and the National Police in IHL as it applies to children, informing 60,000 members of the Armed Forces about the IHL procedures to be used in matters regarding children and about child rights, and providing 150 high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces and the National Police with specialized knowledge of IHL as it applies to child victims of Colombia's internal armed conflict. This project is funded through the Local Fund for Governance and Children's Rights and Protection.
