Published purpose

This project promotes improved governance in the Americas, particularly with respect to (a) democracy, human rights, and fighting corruption; (b) the participation of women in public policy development; and (c) the rights of indigenous peoples. To achieve these objectives, the project supports the College of the Americas (COLAM) in developing quality educational courses relating to these issues, which are delivered through academic networks involving universities throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The courses are designed for public sector officials, the staff of non-governmental organizations, justice officials, and others who work on governance issues in the region.
