Published purpose

The Gender Equality and African Regional Institutions (GEARI) project provides technical assistance to regional institutions to integrate gender equality (GE) into their policies and programs. Assistance includes needs assessments and training, tool development, action planning, and monitoring and evaluation of progress in meeting targets that institutions set for themselves. The GEARI project supports four African regional institutions: Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) based in Ghana; Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) Secretariat in Uganda; and African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) in Ethiopia; and the Observatoire du Sahara et du Sahel (OSS) in Tunisia.
