Published purpose

This project aims to improve gender equality, safety and the well-being of women and girls in conflict-affected communities in Myanmar. The interventions focus on safe, quality and integrated sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. It also focuses on women organizations’ community of practice to address gender inequalities and challenges through a women and girls-centered approach, focusing on their inclusion in decision-making processes. Project activities include: (1) providing safe, quality and integrated gender-based violence (GBV) and SRH care services to vulnerable women and girls in newly established Women and Girls' Wellness Centers; (2) conducting gender-responsive capacity building on and engagement activities for social networking, advocacy and leadership with women and girls; and (3) conducting gender-transformative engagement activities with men and adolescent boys; and (4) providing gender-sensitive awareness sessions on women's rights, GBV, and available GBV-SRH services to men, adolescent boys and community leaders. The project directly benefits 24,000 people, men and women, from four different townships in Myanmar.
