Published purpose
The Protecting Health and Accountability project aims to protect the delivery of essential health services to the poor in Ethiopia while also promoting accountability within public services. Working with other members of the international community to meet these broad objectives, CIDA is supporting specific activities including the purchase and distribution of essential health materials, and building the capacity of civil society to monitor the delivery of public services. Among the goals of this project are improved coverage of basic health services (such as childhood immunization and malaria control) throughout Ethiopia, and strengthened civil society engagement in promoting public accountability to protect basic service delivery. All CIDA disbursements for this project have been completed.
