Published purpose

The Support to Zero Malnutrition Program project supports the Government of Bolivia in its commitment to eradicate malnutrition in children under two years of age and to greatly decrease malnutrition in children under five years of age and in pregnant women. The project contributes to one of the Government of Bolivia's cornerstone programs, the Zero Malnutrition Program. There are three components to the project. This component focuses on developing the knowledge of families and their communities about appropriate nutritional practices. It also contributes to strengthening public health institutions through training for health personnel and the purchase of basic medical equipment. Finally, UNICEF strengthens the capacity of the targeted population, municipal authorities, and water committees to better manage, use, and operate water and sanitation services.
