Published purpose

This project promotes the long-term reintegration of Sudanese returnees through increased access to basic education, while improving the overall quality of learning and the capacity of the education system in various conflict-affected communities in Greater Kordofan. This project aims to increase access to quality education for 25,000 children, including 10,000 girls, in Greater Kordofan by 2009. It also enhances community engagement in the education process on project sites and results in safe and gender-sensitive schools that can be replicated in other communities. These schools demonstrate how learning environments can become more secure and promote the protection and well-being of male and female learners.
