Published purpose

This project provides reintegration assistance and improved standards of living for 25,000 returnees, people who were refugees, but who recently returned to their homes, and host populations in 15 communities of Aweil East, Aweil North, and Aweil West counties in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state. Improvements to the communities’ basic infrastructure are accomplished through water projects, construction/rehabilitation of physical infrastructures (such as health facilities, markets, and schools), livestock distributions, and capacity-building activities. This project aims to increase access to safe drinking water for returnees and host populations; improve access to primary education for at least 800 pupils; and improve living conditions through the implementation of livelihood interventions, such as vocational training, cash grant programs, fisheries, shelter assistance, and the distribution of livestock, seeds, and tools.
