Policy Forum

Published purpose

This project aims to strengthen non-state actors’ capacity to monitor and report on democratic practice, corruption, human rights and service delivery. By supporting the Policy Forum, a network of 80 Tanzanian non-governmental organizations, CIDA contributes to strengthen NGO effectiveness in policy processes. Policy Forum provides a consistent and expanding base of knowledge and expertise accessible by civil society, academia, and the general public. Policy Forum activities focus on three areas: Local Governance, Public Finance and Active Citizen Voice. The aim is to amplify civil society’s voice by raising awareness on key issues in the area of governance and accountability, and improving access to information for Tanzanian citizens and those who represent their interests within and outside of the government.
