Published purpose
This project funds the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Material Management and Minimization to eliminate the remaining high enriched uranium at a research reactor in Kurchatov, Kazakhstan. Project activities include: (1) making structural repairs to the gantry crane track that moves heavy equipment and materials and (2) renovating the control and power systems for loading and unloading the crane.
