Published purpose

The Canadian Benefit for Parents of Young Victims of Crime is a grant available to parents (or those legally responsible) who are taking time away from work to cope with the death or disappearance of a child or young adult under the age of 25 who has died or gone missing as the result of a probable Criminal Code offence. Due to the Privacy Act considerations, the Parents of Young Victims of Crime Grant Program has received a reporting exemption from TBS, is therefore provided as batch reporting. These grants are issued to individuals with whom there is a binding agreement not to disclose their personal information. The grants are not awarded to organizations, provincial/territorial governments, or to businesses.
