Published purpose

This is a component of the Contribution to Food Security project. It aims to reduce the vulnerability of local populations to food insecurity by adapting agricultural practices to climate change. Sub-projects undertaken as part of this component aim to increase soil productivity and reduce the risks of natural disasters (including flooding and landslides) through watershed development, soil conservation and recuperation against erosion, and the protection of ravines and riverbanks. Local populations, elected officials, and local government bodies receive training to raise their awareness of climate change.
