Published purpose

The goal of the project is to improve local development of the coastal people of Red Sea State in Sudan. The purpose of this project is to improve the income and livelihoods of the communities in the following ways: sustainable production and marketing of fisheries, entrepreneurship development, promotion of new businesses in the fisheries sector and related supporting activities, particularly for women. Expected results include: established and strengthened capacity of fishing cooperatives and small scale enterprises as new market actors; enhanced capacity of staff to continuously train and provide support to the cooperatives; and increased capacity of small enterprises services providers to provide service such as ice production, cold store maintenance service, fish salting, drying and packaging, and maintenance of fishing boats and motors.
