Published purpose

The project aims to improve social, political and economic conditions in four counties in the Upper Nile State of Sudan by addressing the vulnerability of internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities and promoting their stability. The project seeks to achieve this outcome through activities in environmental conservation, food security, income generation, capacity building of local NGOs and CBOs, and water and sanitation. By improving household livelihood security and reducing water- related conflicts, the project aids in the successful reintegration of returnees and supports the overall peace process in Sudan. Activities promote gender equality and environmental sustainability. This project is expected to benefit 16,000 households.
