Published purpose

The project aimed to contribute in improving food security by increasing the production and accessibility of agricultural products. The allocated resources helped fund tangible measures to develop knowledge and tools, to coordinate development of proximity irrigation, to strengthen the Ministry of Agriculture, and to build productive and commercialization infrastructures. The project aimed to increase annual agricultural production of rice and market garden produce; to improve access to financial services and technical supervision; to build mini-dams and storehouses; and to rehabilitate rural paths. The project directly targeted over 1,700 families beneficiaries, or a population of over 25,000 people.
