Published purpose
This project supports the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with the Mozambique Ministry of Health, to undertake a nationwide measles vaccination campaign for children under five. The campaign aims to accelerate, on a national scale, the reduction of under-five mortality. It provides 2.7 million children with a measles vaccine, 3.6 million children with a dose of Vitamin A and 3.2 million children with deworming medicine. The campaign takes place during May 2011 as part of a National Mother and Child Health Week, a public health outreach effort to deliver a package of high-impact, low-cost maternal and child survival interventions. This project is part of Canada's Maternal, Newborn and Child Health commitment.
