Published purpose

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) is designed to support small projects relating to Burma that are proposed and implemented by local organizations in Thailand. In providing funding for small projects that offer direct social, economic, or technical assistance to local populations, the CFLI contributes to the overall goal of reducing poverty. The specific objective of this CFLI is to support capacity development and community-based initiatives in the areas of human rights, good governance and democratic development. The main organizations eligible for funding are non-governmental organizations, associations, foundations or other organizations that have demonstrated the capacity to manage projects.
