Published purpose

The project will install retractable gates in downtown Niagara Falls. The project will purchase and install permanent retractable fixed barricades for the ability to convert the busy roadways downtown into a walkable promenade for residents and customers. The gates will assist small businesses in expanding their patios, creating a walkable community space, and hosting events. The project will increase foot traffic to businesses and allow for increased patio space which encourages outdoor engagements in the community. There will be 10 sets of gates for a total of 5 sections of streets available to be made into a walkable space along Queen St. in Niagara Falls.
