Published purpose

February 13, 2013 - Since early January 2013, heavy rains across the southern Africa region have resulted in widespread flooding. In Mozambique, which has been hit the hardest, the torrential rains have caused the destruction of houses, schools, health centres, and crops and forced affected populations to leave their homes in search of safer areas. With CIDA support, UNICEF is helping to provide emergency water and sanitation services, nutritional support, and protection for vulnerable community members to an estimated 150,000 people that have been displaced or affected by the floods.
