Published purpose

This project aims to increase economic opportunities for Palestinians by generating short-term employment and improving transportation infrastructure. It represents Canada’s support to the High Impact Micro-Infrastructure Initiative (HIMII). The HIMII is a multi-donor initiative led by USAID that was designed to create jobs and to build vital community infrastructure throughout the West Bank. The HIMII supports the implementation of infrastructure projects that include the construction and repair of health clinics, roads, water systems, community centres and schools. These projects were designed to deliver tangible benefits, to improve the Palestinians’ living conditions and to support the growth of the Palestinian economy.
