Published purpose

The project aims to increase collaboration between partner countries and donors on joint evaluations. It supports a collaborative study (led by France) of partner countries involved in the Paris Declaration Evaluation (PDE) Network in order to identify opportunities to support joint partner-donor evaluations work. The project seeks to understand the capacity-building potential of collaborative evaluation work, draw new lessons about the capacity-development strategies, and pave the way to future partner-donor collaboration on evaluation work. Project activities include: (1) holding a first international workshop to plan country studies; (2) holding a second international workshop to draw lessons from the country studies, to convert the identified opportunities into multi-annual collaborative program, and to propose the working arrangements for open partner-donor collaboration; and (3) writing and disseminating thematic papers that are drawing on the country studies and workshop discussions. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Evaluation Network (EvalNet) is implementing this project in collaboration with Expertise France.
