This project seeks to promote and protect women’s and girls’ rights in Colombia. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the women’s movement and civil society to advocate for public policies and budgets that respond to their needs and priorities. It also contributes to enhancing gender-sensitive public management by the national and local governments. Gender-responsive budgeting is recognized as a strategic tool to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment, by improving the allocation of existing resources more equitably. It also ensures that gender-differentiated needs and priorities reflects in public policies. This initiative delivers high-quality technical assistance to the Government of Colombia, women’s rights organizations and civil society for the systematic and sustainable integration of gender equality considerations into national and local planning and budgeting processes
