Published purpose

This project will aim to provide comprehensive support to the Government of Bangladesh to strengthen community policing in order to counter terrorism and violent extremism in Bangladesh. Along with strengthening the Community Police Units and capacities of the Community Police Officers, in line with the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and the Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism, the project will also aim to support and strengthen the government efforts to design, establish and implement the relevant key components of a Bangladesh national counter-terrorism strategy, including strengthening capacities of Anti-Terrorism Unit as lead agency for countering violent extremism.
