Commonwealth Youth Programme

Published purpose

This annual assessed contribution represents Canada’s long-term support to the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP). The Commonwealth Youth Program uses these funds, along with other donors’ funding, to achieve its mandate. This funding contributes to supporting youth development, engagement and empowerment in the Commonwealth, and to enhancing Canada’s relationships with the 53 other Commonwealth countries on youth issues. The CYP advocates for the effective participation of young women and men in the development process and for social transformation, and values their full engagement at all levels of decision-making. The assessed contributions to the CYP are managed by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
