Published purpose

Through this project, WFP will boost income generation opportunities and livelihood diversification of vulnerable households and promote women’s empowerment and household care practices in Venezuela. The project will enhance individuals’ technical skills towards more diversified and reliable sources of income, through training and follow up programmes; support households to meet their immediate food needs through food transfers to promote their participation in technical and life skills training; and strengthen the capacity of local organizations and institutions to design and implement training programmes for livelihood diversification and the creation of income generating opportunities at community level. The project will operate in Amazonas, Apure and Sucre, Falcón and Delta Amacuro over a three-year period. The project aims to assist some 10,000 people within the framework of its livelihood support strategy, including women, caregivers of people with disabilities, and indigenous communities.
