Published purpose

The "Children Associated with Armed Forces and Groups (CAAFAG): Prevention, Safe Release, and Reintegration in Mozambique" project aims to enhance the protection, well-being and empowerment of vulnerable children, particularly girls, affected by armed conflict in northern Mozambique. The project will: 1) Prevent recruitment and use of children by armed forces and groups through profiling of vulnerable children, providing alternatives, engaging communities in dialogues, and advocating for the implementation of key child protection policies; 2) Reintegrate children associated to armed forces and groups (CAAFAG) into their communities through safe release, access to gender-responsive services and psychosocial support, as well as durable, family-based solutions; and 3) Promote gender equality and empowerment through enhanced access of children to gender-responsive care, services and programs tailored to their specific needs. The project will build the capacity of support service providers and the resilience of communities most vulnerable to armed groups in northern Mozambique.
