Published purpose

This grant represents Canada's support to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program. It is part of a larger contribution to the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program, which supports the filling of up to 20 positions by young Canadian professionals. UNICEF uses these funds to coordinate the recruitment and appointment of up to two Canadian professionals, allowing them to gain professional experience in international development. Participants will also help the organizations fulfill their respective mandates and achieve sustainable development goals. UNICEF advocates for the protection of children's rights. Guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF supports the rights of children to help fulfill their basic rights and expand opportunities so they can reach their full potential, including in emergency situations. UNICEF also works to protect children from violence and abuse
