Published purpose

This project aims to improve economic wellbeing of young people, especially young women, in the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka. It seeks to enhance the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system and increase inclusive employment opportunities tailored to local needs. As a result, this significantly improves economic prospects for young people, especially young women. Project activities include: (1) updating existing curriculum to align with analyses and best practices including gender sensitivity; (2) identifying labour market gaps and needs in consultation with industry stakeholders, and strengthening the job matching mechanisms; and (3) developing a collaboration agenda with local TVET stakeholders.
