Published purpose

This Project will support the participation of 34 elected officials and municipal staff from cities and municipalities across Africa, the Middle East, and South and Southeast Asia in the Strong Cities Sixth Global Summit, taking place in Toronto, Canada in December 2025. The Strong Cities Global Summit serves as the premier global convening for local leaders working to prevent and respond to hate, extremism, and polarization. Through a dynamic agenda of keynote addresses, high-level panels, practitioner workshops, and peer-learning sessions, the Summit will provide a unique opportunity for participating officials to: Share local innovations in prevention and safeguarding social cohesion; Engage in in-depth discussion on strengthening national-local coordination; Explore inclusive responses to online hate and digital radicalisation; and Connect with peers, civil society actors, and international institutions to build sustained partnerships.
