Published purpose

December 2025 – On October 27, 2025, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) captured the city of El Fasher, triggering intense violence, heavy shelling, ground assaults, and mass displacement. Since then, at least 100,000 people have fled El Fasher and nearby villages, and projections indicate that up to 250,000 people may be forced to flee their homes. With GAC’s support, UNICEF is responding to the critical needs of children and families affected by the crisis. Project activities include: (1) providing immediate water, sanitation and hygiene services; (2) nutrition services including treatment for severe acute malnutrition for children and pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls; (3) providing protection services for children and women; and (4) providing health care services.
