Published purpose

This grant represents Canada's support for the World Food Program (WFP) Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program. It is part of a larger contribution to the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program, which supports the filling of up to 20 positions by young Canadian professionals. WFP uses these funds to recruit and appoint up to four young Canadians to JPO positions, allowing them to gain professional on-the-ground experience in international development and also helping the organization fulfill its mandate and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. WFP is the largest humanitarian organization fighting hunger and plays a vital role in providing humanitarian assistance that saves lives, alleviates suffering and preserves the dignity of people in countries affected by conflict and natural disaster around the world.
