Published purpose
The project aims to increase the economic well-being of Jordanian women and youth, including people with disabilities and Syrian refugees, through increased opportunities for employment in decent and green jobs in areas adjacent to industrial estates (IEs) in East and South Amman, Irbid, Madaba, Mafraq and Zarqa governorates. The project will target the manufacturing sector of 6 industrial estates which provide a concentration of medium and large-scale employers that provide both employment potential, and the economies of scale required to deliver shared services to women and youth, such as transport and childcare. We-GREEN will incentivize and assist employers to increase employment of women and youth in the manufacturing sector, and provide them with skills training and access to decent work opportunities.
