Published purpose

SAFE Haiti aims to prevent the recruitment and use of children by armed groups in Haiti through integrated interventions focused on child protection, social inclusion, and economic empowerment. The project adopts a transformative gender approach, recognizing that girls and boys are exposed to different recruitment risks, requiring tailored prevention and response strategies. SAFE Haiti provides at-risk children and other vulnerable children with access to essential services, education, health care, nutrition, and psychosocial support in safe and protective environments. Services are designed with gender-sensitive approaches that address the specific needs of girls and boys through case management and referrals to other services, such as reproductive health services for girls and positive masculinity programs for boys.
