Published purpose

This project supports the International Program for Development Education Training (IPDET), a four-week executive training program in development education for evaluators from developing countries, held annually at Carleton University from mid-June to mid-July. IPDET provides managers and practitioners with the generic tools they require to evaluate development policies, programs, and projects at local, national, regional, and global levels. This project includes annual scholarships for key decision-makers from developing country governments and non-governmental organizations; co-sponsorship of a regional IPDET training session in the field; and the design and operation of an innovative, distance-coaching program to support alumni after the IPDET training. IPDET is managed jointly by Carleton University and the World Bank Group’s Independent Evaluation Group.
