Published purpose

The goal of this project is to help improve the health of women and men in developing countries by helping to make health services equally available and effective for both men and women. It supports the Gender, Equity and Human Rights Unit within the World Health Organization (WHO). The mandate of this unit is to reinforce the ability of WHO to address issues relating to gender differences in its programs. This project supports the WHO in developing the knowledge and skills its staff requires to make gender, equity and human rights considerations an integral part of all WHO policies and programs. The project helps to ensure that these cross-cutting priorities are effectively addressed at the national and regional levels.
