Published purpose
August 22, 2012 - With CIDA support, the United Nations World Food Programme is addressing the food assistance needs of vulnerable groups in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Project activities include the provision of nutritious supplementary foods to pregnant women for six months, and for an additional six months while they are breastfeeding. In addition, children aged 6 to 23 months are receiving supplementary foods through distribution in nurseries. Older vulnerable children are receiving supplementary food through targeted distributions in hospitals, primary schools and boarding schools.
