Published purpose

January 28, 2013 - with Canada's support, Médecins du Monde is providing emergency healthcare for up to 213,000 people in northern Mali, a region affected by armed conflict. Project activities include: the provision of basic health care, including maternal and newborn healthcare services; the provision of medicine and training to staff in 27 health centres; the establishment of 3 emergency mobile health clinics to reach isolated populations with primary healthcare services and information; the screening and management of moderate and severe acute malnutrition of up to 28,756 children under 5 years of age and 7,472 pregnant and lactating women; and the establishment of an early warning system to prevent the spread of epidemics.
