IFAD - International Fund for Agricultural Development

Published purpose

This grant represents Canada’s institutional support to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). IFAD uses these funds, along with other donors' funding, to achieve its mandate. IFAD’s mandate is to improve rural food and nutrition security, and enable rural women and men to overcome poverty. IFAD works with poor rural people to help them grow and sell more food, increase their incomes and determine the direction of their own lives. Canada’s support to IFAD contributes to innovative projects and programs and to deliver country-specific solutions, which involve increasing the rural poor’s access to agricultural technologies, financial services, markets, land and other natural resources.
