Published purpose

This project reviews North Korea’s chemical industry and utilizes remote sensing tools to support the analysis of activities relevant to chemical weapons at these sites. Project activities include: (1) developing a map of industrial chemical sites in North Korea that could pose a chemical weapons risk; (2) hosting and delivering consultations and workshops to gather data and expert assessment of the chemical weapons risk in North Korea; (3) mapping potential chemical weapons sites and identify potential gaps in chemical weapons production; and (4) preparing policy recommendations to national policy makers, allied governments, and relevant international organizations and WMD-related fora on how best to address chemical weapons risks.
