Published purpose
The project aims to strengthen the Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational Education and Training system partners through capacity building in planning, management, program renewal, technical teacher training, and applied research. It also re-designs programs to ensure relevancy, address issues of access and success, and prepare technical teachers to train students for employment and self-employment. The project supports the Government of Malawi’s goals of poverty reduction and socio-economic development through appropriate technical vocational policy and programming initiatives. In collaboration with the University of Regina, the Malawi Polytechnic seeks to restructure its curriculum to make it more relevant to the nation’s labour market needs and to produce qualified technical teachers and graduates who can contribute to Malawi’s socio-economic development.
