Published purpose
Harmony Foundation and its Chinese partners, Environment Management College of China and the National Training Centre for Mayors in China, work to reduce the environmental impact of urbanization in China by training the trainers and local political leaders (mayors) and involve the communities in sustainable community development principles and best practices, urban pacification and the administration of environmental programs. The project targets one of the most populated provinces of China, the province of Hebei and its port city of Quinhuangdao. Hebei shelters Beijing, China's capital. This is an important industrial, commercial and recreational centre that is overpopulated, with important environmental problems due to the presence of numerous polluting industries. This is one two components of a project valued at $500,000. The first component has been completed.
