Published purpose

This project aims to enhance climate resilience and promote sustainable development in Zanzibar’s unique ecosystems through a nature-based approach. It does so by working closely with local communities to restore and protect mangrove forests, establish climate-smart agroforestry systems, and implement sustainable land and water management practices. The project seeks to empower farmers and community members to adopt climate-resilient agricultural techniques and improve natural resource management through capacity building and training. It also aims to strengthen climate information systems, enabling communities to make informed decisions and respond effectively to changing climate patterns. By integrating gender-responsive approaches, the project ensures the active participation and inclusion of women and marginalized groups.
